My bag of potting soil is missing. Dh and I both think we know what happened to it ;-) but it’s a moot point now. I have a list of errands I’d like to accomplish today if dh has the time to get me out-n-about and I’ll add soil to my list; otherwise, it will have to wait until Thurs. when I have my midwife appt. Meanwhile, I’ll clean up the houseplants a bit. The pots and plantstand are really dusty and the plants themselves need some pruning. I have one daughter anxious to help me with that so it should be a good time if short on satisfying my gardening itch.

Antsy

I just couldn’t stand it any more!

I pulled out all of my seeds, even before I was dressed, this morning. Knowing I was a little ahead of myself, I pushed them back to the corner of the counter and resolved to wait later in the day to do some planning. Accomplish our morning routine at least first. (They are there where I can see them and they’ll keep calling me and I won’t be able to put them off!) ;-) I have no idea what I’ll be able to do this year…but preliminary talks have begun with dh. He tore up and out all the garden boxes from the last few years, etc. in anticipation of bringing in some topsoil (did two dump truck loads this past Sep./Oct. - hauled by hand to the backyard - *whew* ) and regrade the backyard. But, I can’t wait to see when or if we’ll get to that! I need to grow something and I need to it now! LOL I’m thinking tomatoes at least. They’ve done really well in large containers on our deck in the past and the deck is a safe place…at least as much as I can foresee into the future! LOL

Update

April 10th, 2006

I updated the “What’s Growing” page. The link is in the sidebar. That’s all that’s happening at the moment. Still waiting for the snow to melt. ;-) It’s starting to go fast now despite the occasional flurry. We had about a ¼ inch this morning when I was up at 7am and there was a bit of frost in places where the snow didn’t land but it was all melted and the resulting water dried up by 10am. :-) Just need to keep up with starting seeds at this point…although I’m still not sure what’s happening with the house/yard remodeling/regrading, etc. yet…I’m going forward on “faith” you could say. :-)
